Women’s golf releases upcoming schedule for 2021-2022 season

San Diego State women’s golf team released its schedule for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. The Aztecs will be seeking their 12th postseason appearance in the last 13 years. They will play in nine tournaments across six states, with their eyes set on playing in Scottsdale, Arizona. for the NCAA Championships on May 20 to May 25.

The Aztecs begin the season in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational from Sept. 13 to Sept. 14 on the University of New Mexico’s Championship Golf Course. This will be SDSU’s sixth consecutive trip to New Mexico to start a season.

The Scarlet and Black then travel to Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado for the Golfweek Conference Challenge Sept. 27 to Sept. 29.

To end the fall portion of the schedule, the Aztecs will travel to the world-renowned Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago for the Illini Invitational Oct. 11 to Oct. 12.

SDSU kicks off its spring schedule by hosting the Lamkin Invitational at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15. The Aztecs won the event in 2020 beating San Jose State 3-2 in the final. 

The Aztecs will stay in California for its next event, the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational in Fairfax from March 7 to March 8, before heading across the country shortly after to compete at the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. from March 12 to March 13.

March will be a busy month for the Aztecs as it concludes at the PING ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona. March 25 to March 27. 

The last chance for the Aztecs to fine-tune their play before the Mountain West Conference Championships will come at the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Golf Club in Napa from April 4 to April 6. Silverado Golf Club will host the PGA Tour’s Fortinet Championship (formerly Safeway Open). The club has been a regular stop on the PGA Tour since 2007. 

The MWC Championships will take place at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. April 18 to April 20. The Aztecs will be seeking their 12th postseason appearance in the last 13 years. The NCAA Regional Championships will be held from May 9 to May 11. The regionals will be played across four sites hosted by UNM, University of Michigan, Oklahoma State and Florida State. 

The NCAA finals will be held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 20 to May 25. Should the Aztecs reach the NCAA finals, it would be the first time in program history they would qualify for the event.
