A presentation of the San Diego State Global Health Seminar Series, this event will feature of several lectures and a follow-up discussion.

Hand Craft Faire

Location: Campanile Walkway

Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Come to the Campanile Walkway to shop for jewelry, clothing, paintings and other handcrafts. This event runs through Thursday.

WEDNESDAY, Dec. 8

Bedouin Soundclash with Moneybrother

Location: Belly Up Tavern

Time: 9 p.m.

Listen to Bedouin Soundclash in a performance that blurs the line between reggae and rock.

A Soiree of Music and Dance

Location: Don Powell Theatre

Time: 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Come for a concert featuring Dance Studio performers, the SDSU Symphony Orchestra, the Aztec Concert Choir and more. The concert will raise money for student scholarships.

THURSDAY, Dec. 9

Viva la Revolución: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape

Location: Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego

Time: Now through Jan. 2

This exhibit, viewable both in the museum galleries and in public sites across the city, features the work of 20 artists including pieces from Mark Bradford and David Ellis. The pieces address urban issues and are created by artists from 10 countries.

Seeing Beauty Exhibition

Location: Museum of Photographic Arts

Time: Now through Jan. 23, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The exhibit focuses on the aesthetics of beauty, conveyed through the work of various photographers, including Mary Ellen Mark and Edward Weston.

FRIDAY, Dec. 10

Dave Koz and Friends: A Smooth Jazz Christmas 2010

Location: Balboa Theatre

Time: 8 p.m.

Listen to a collection of festive jazz played by Grammy-nominated Koz and other musical guests.

New Realities: Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor

Location: Museum of Photographic Arts

Time: Now through Jan. 30, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This 60-image exhibition showcases the genius of two pioneers of photomontage. Taylor creates her work with a scanner and computer, while husband Uelsmann uses an analog darkroom to create a single cohesive image out of multiple separate images.
