MEN’S TENNIS: Dominant day against Boise State

It must be the home cooking.

The San Diego State men’s tennis team dominated in both doubles and singles on Saturday morning as it cruised to a 5-2 victory against No. 66 Boise State at the Aztec Tennis Center, marking its second victory at home.

SDSU (2-7) had two doubles victories by senior Achim Ceban and junior Giovanni Vaglietti and juniors Andre Feliz and Tim Schulz van Endert to take the early 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Senior Juan Gomez continued his stellar season, winning in straight sets against No. 36 James Meredith. The Aztecs also got singles victories from Ceban, Feliz and Schulz van Endert as they beat the Broncos (5-5) in dominating fashion.

“The whole team showed up (today),” Gomez said. “We played good doubles and good singles and picked up the W.”

SDSU will try to win two in a row for the first time this season as it takes on Arizona at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Aztec Tennis Center.
