Trending Topic: Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin, point guard for the New York Knicks, is NBA’s latest phenomenon. His name has appeared everywhere, and it might even be a bit overwhelming trying to keep up. Since his first start with the New York Knicks on February 6th, Lin’s name has escalated in popular, making him a constant trend.

Having a history of being cut by teams, being the first U.S-born player of Taiwanese or Chinese decent to join the league, and now exposing his incredible basketball skills with the Knicks are among the many factors that make Lin an enthralling sensation dubbed “Lin-sanity.”

On twitter many talk about Lin using a variety of hastags including #Linsanity, #Linning, #LinderellaStory and #Lincredible, among many.

  • Phil Taylor (@SI_PhilTaylor): I know there are other things going on in the sports world besides Jeremy Lin. But I don’t care about any of them. #nyk #linsanity
  • Steve Nash (@SteveNash): If you love sports you have to love what Jeremy Lin is doing. Getting an opportunity and exploding!!
  • Floyd Mayweather (@FloydMayweather): Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.

Check out this “Linforgraphic” for a further explanation on the hype behind Jeremy Lin.

Trending Topic: Mountain Lion

No, not the animal. Instead, it’s Apple’s latest OS X software. Following the release of Mac OS X Lion in 2010, Apple has now unveiled their latest software, OS X Mountain Lion, claiming it is “the world’s most advanced desktop operating system.”

For the most part, people are excited for Mountain Lion, which will be available for download this summer.

Here’s what the Twitter Universe had to say:

  • Steve White (@Dweez187): As an avid hater of all things Apple, I gotta say, OS X Mountain Lion does look impressive. #GettingMyGeekOn
  • Antonio Lutz (@WiseguyUnique): OS X Mountain Lion makes me wanna have to buy a Mac this summer.
