Flavor erupts at Krakatoa

Flavor erupts at Krakatoa

Nothing says happiness like a good cup of coffee. As much as we all love the plastic container with the little green straw, sometimes the best coffee comes from your local coffeeshop. Krakatoa coffeeshop offers a delicious full espresso bar to fill every coffee lover’s cup.

From a house brew to cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos, this cozy coffee shack tucked in Golden Hill offers delicious drinks in monster-sized mugs and cups. Krakatoa uses Illy Caffe esspresso in its specialty coffee drinks. The coffee menu averages around $3 per drink.

Krakatoa offers coffee lovers a delicious cappuccino. The milky drink is sure to please anyone looking for the Italian coffee favorite. For the brave and the caffeine addicts, the Krakhead packs a punch. Proceed with caution—shots of espresso poured into black coffee, this beverage jolts drinkers into a caffeinated frenzy. In the mood for a cool drink? The iced mocha is a chocolaty choice that has the necessary caffeine while being refreshing. For a sweet alternative, Krakatoa’s chai latte is a pleasant and calming tea option.

The coffeeshop also serves a full menu of breakfast items, sandwiches and salads. The El Chichon sandwich is a mouthful of Black Forest ham, melted Oaxaca cheese with avocado, mayonnaise and red onions. The sandwich is served on a toasted telera (Mexican bolillo) bread. Every sandwich comes with a side of potato salad that is sure to please anybody looking for a full healthy meal.

After finishing lunch, customers can choose from a variety of desserts ranging from brownies and muffins to cookies and cakes. Krakatoa bakes all of its own home-style pastries.

For those who live a less caffeinated life, Krakatoa also offers a variety of drinks such as Italian sodas and smoothies made with fresh fruit.

Aside from great coffee and fabulous food, Krakatoa has a very homey vibe and feel. The coffeehouse’s resident cat lounges around the place making every one who comes in feel welcome.
