Arkansas drops SDSU

In the finale of a four-game series with No. 15 Arkansas, the San Diego State baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision on Sunday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

SDSU was unable to manufacture much offense against the Razorbacks, as three pitchers combined to strike out 16 Aztec batters.

Meanwhile, Arkansas scored two runs in the third and fifth innings despite only having four hits on the day. SDSU also had four hits, but wasn’t able to produce any runs until the bottom of the eighth. It was too late, though, and the Razorbacks picked up their third win of the weekend. On Saturday, the Aztecs rallied to get the 3-2 win against Arkansas behind freshman shortstop Cody Slader’s two-out single that brought in a pair of runs.

SDSU will now prepare for a road contest against Loyola Marymount at 2 p.m. today at Page Stadium in Los Angeles.
