Explosive packages

Two explosive bombs sent on planes originating in Yemen were discovered early Friday. It is now believed the explosives may have traveled on passenger planes. The bombs were placed inside printer cartridges, having enough explosives to blow up the plane’s fuselage if detonated. One plane was en route to Chicago. A second one carrying explosives was discovered in England. Officials believe the bombs were in connection with Al-Qaeda.

Turkish suicide bomber

Thirty-two people were injured Sunday as a result of a suicide bomber attack in Taksim Square in Istanbul. Officials are not sure which, if any, organization was linked with the bomber. Of the 32 people injured Sunday, 15 were Turkish police officers and the other 17 were civilians. A man detonated the bomb after stopping to ask police for directions.
