Welcome back Aztecs!

I hope you all enjoyed your well-earned winter break and are now ready to go as we gear up for another exciting and full semester. There will be a lot going on at San Diego State and I want to highlight some key opportunities for you.

After establishing a record setting 372 student-alumni mentorships last semester, the Aztec Mentor Program is coming into the spring semester with a lot of momentum. Upper division students have the opportunity to register for a potential SDSU alumni mentor. The deadline is Feb. 13 and you can get more information at amp.sdsu.edu.

For the first time in three years, the Leadership Minor is now officially back in the SDSU curriculum. The introductory class ARP 205 will be offered this semester. If you want more information, make sure to visit sll.sdsu.edu or go into Student Life and Leadership, on the second floor of the Union.

Look for details soon about GreenFest, scheduled for March 2 to 6. Associated Students Elections will be from March 16 to 19 and packets to be a candidate are available this Friday, Jan. 23, in the A.S. Office, third floor of the Union.

To all my fellow Aztecs, especially the freshman, make this spring the semester where you step out of your comfort zone; try new things; and take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities SDSU has to offer. Getting involved on campus helped transform my SDSU experience and I encourage all of you to find your niche on this campus. Be sure to balance this with staying academically fit because we are students above all else.

Have a great spring semester!  Go Aztecs!
