A San Diego State student was attacked off campus, university officials reported in a community safety notification Saturday evening.

At about 1 a.m. Saturday, an unidentified male student was walking off campus in the 6100 block of Montezuma Road when he was approached from behind by two unidentified suspects, officials said.

The student told police the suspects pushed him to the ground and took his backpack before fleeing the scene.

The student, who was unable to provide a description of the suspects, was not injured.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with additional information was asked to call SDPD at (619) 531-2000 or CrimeStoppers at (888) 580-8477.
