Construction updates – What’s open and where’s the detour?

After weeks of demolition at the site of the future Aztec Student Union, construction officials expect to move back the fences this week, but as early as today, so that students can travel around the site more easily.

Currently, the only access through the south end of campus, near the bridge over College Avenue, is to go down to the trolley, through Aztec Green and back up past the Open Air Theater and Manchester Hall. This detour should be alleviated once it becomes safe for students to travel through the site.

On Sept. 1, there will be an open forum info session for students to ask people directly involved with the construction about the project. The forum will be held from noon to 1 p.m. and is an informal event open to anyone interested in learning more about the project.
