San Diego State defensive end Scottie Nicholson earned MountainWest Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for hisperformance in SDSU’s 39-7 win over Wyoming last Saturday.
In that game Nicholson recorded six unassisted tackles, includingtwo for 17 yards in losses. The senior also caused and recovered afumble, knocked down two passes and recorded a sack for a 10-yardloss.
Nicholson started nine games this season for SDSU, and finishedeighth on the team in total tackles with 44, including 31 unassisted.His 14 tackles for loss ranks third on the squad and he had six sacksduring the season.
The senior is the second Aztec to receive conference player of theweek honors. In week four, junior quarterback Jack Hawley wasselected MWC offensive player of the week for his 343-yard, fourtouchdown performance in the Aztecs 41-13 conquest of Kansas.
