Up four points, the San Diego State football team needed that big play to distance itself from Colorado State. Thanks to junior quarterback Kevin O’Connell’s running ability, SDSU got it. O’Connell ran the ball seven times in the Aztecs’ 10-play scoring drive midway through the fourth quarter. Redshirt freshman running back Atiyyah Henderson recorded an 11-yard run, while junior running back Brandon Bornes pitched in a punishing 31-yard burst on the second play of the drive. Three of O’Connell’s runs were more than 10 yards, including his 14-yard scamper that put SDSU up for good, 17-6, in their season finale.
