A March 9 article in The Daily Aztec titled, “President Weber undermines the foundation,” misidentified the role of the San Diego State Research Foundation as “the university’s auxiliary fundraising arm.” At SDSU, fundraising is the responsibility of the Campanile Foundation. The SDSU Research Foundation’s primary responsibilities are to administer the university’s research grants and contracts, develop and manage various centers and institutes, and provide technology transfer services, among other things, according to its Web site. Also, at one point, the article discussed four resignations from the foundation. However, Chief Executive Officer Frea Sladek and Chief Operating Officer Steve Bloom retired from the foundation; they did not resign. The Daily Aztec regrets the errors.
