The 2025 San Diego FC Community Kit brought style in and out of the stadium. From OOTDs to style videos on TikTok and Instagram to spotting the white jersey with black embellishments, a woven pattern and a pop of blue – no one could get enough of styling the cleanest jersey of the 2025 MLS season.
“Unprecedented Unity Night”
In 2022, Louis Kahn’s Salk Institute in La Jolla, best known for its stunning architecture and one of the best sunset views in San Diego, hosted the 2022 Louis Vuitton fashion show, presenting the brand’s 2023 Cruise collection. On Feb. 7, 2026, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies hosted “Unprecedented Unity Night.” An evening of community for athletes and artists consisting of an exclusive fashion show for San Diego FC to unveil the team’s never-before-seen 2026 Community Kit, new season merchandise, one-of-one pieces from San Diego creatives, along with Tafari World X SDFC’s collaboration with Adidas.
San Diego Creatives
Walking down the runway were edgy designs brought by artists across our city, including showstopping gowns with the team crest, skirts made of jerseys and powerful statements. One of which stood out most was the words in bright orange repeated around a jean jacket displaying “protect immigrants” and “sin fronteras,” showing forms of art that can spark conversation and a message. Some of these pieces are to be auctioned off at a later date.
SDFC X Tafari World
For the team’s first official collaboration outside MLS guidelines, San Diego FC chose the San Diego-born fashion line, Tafari World, to create a line of innovative designs that represent what they stand for and play.
Co-founder, owner and designer of Tafari World, Tyler Beejan Adibi, referred to as Tafari, is a San Diego native. He’s played soccer his entire life, so this collaboration hit home for him. “I was honored that SDFC approached me and asked me to do the collaboration. Tafari stands for arts. The whole brand is based on the arts. But this is the opportunity for us to fuse the arts with athletics.”
“Our mission statement with this project was to inspire artists and athletes to pursue their dreams. We really believe we have a similar identity with the brand [San Diego FC]. We want to inspire everyone to become an artist. So SDFC X Tafari World is a very special collaboration,” stated Tafari.
What stands out the most about this collection is how it is designed for everybody. Although the designs are with loud and bold colors, there are two sides to be shown (literally). Designer Tafari gave insight into how the collection caters to all fashion lovers, whether you like bright or simple colors. “You know, we made the tracksuit originally the colorful way, and at the last second, we made it reversible so it’s got a cleaner side to it. So the idea was that the people who are too afraid to wear the colorful tracksuit will buy it so that they can have this color tracksuit, but one day, they’ll feel confident enough to flip it around and wear the color side. So that’s how I hope they style it,” he said.

2026 Community Kit & Merchandise
The 2026 Community Kit was shown to the public for the first time at the fashion show. Different from last season, there are more vibrant colors. The white jersey with dark blue emblem and detailing, and electric orange linework with glints of blue, was up for exclusive purchase on Unity Night, with attendees waiting to get their hands on the new design. The questions of the night were: How would you like to see the newly revealed jersey styled on gameday, and how does this new collection speak to you and your perception of the team?
“I’m so excited to wear it to the next game. I’m definitely going to wear a cute skirt, maybe some cute boots, and hair up,” said Viviana Venegas, Senior at San Diego State University & model at SDFC “Unprecedented Unity Night” fashion show.
First to walk down the runway with the team’s new merchandise, Venegas found a quick connection to it. “From the second I saw the whole collection, I was amazed. I feel like it shows a lot of what San Diego is: the culture, who we are and just the whole [community]. The designers are amazing… It’s always a pleasure working with them,” she shared.
San Diego FC’s centre-back and Leagues Cup champion, Christopher McVey, pointed out an added detail to the new jersey that stood out to him, in addition to how he feels about the new jersey. This new detail has blue, red and yellow lettering displayed on the bottom right corner of the jersey to show Tijuana and San Diego as one. He said, “I love it. And they added the SDTJ logo on the bottom, which I think is really cool to bring together the two communities. It’s grown on me a lot the more I’ve seen it, so I’m excited to play in it,” he said.
Tafari World discussed his thoughts on the public styling of the SDFC X Tafari World designs and the new community jersey, saying, “Every day, we decide how we’re going to feel about what we wear. Every day, we decide how the room’s going to feel based on how we walk into it. So I hope this collection inspires people to step outside the box in their traditional clothing and do something a little crazy.”
San Diego FC will release its 2026 Community Kit to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
