UPDATE: Feb. 14, 2 p.m.

Reverand was a pre-business administration marketing sophomore according to SDSU’s Chief Communications Officer Greg Block.

Tommy Reverand, a San Diego State student and  member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at SDSU, died this past Monday.

San Diego police were called at 3:47 p.m. Monday to the residential 5300 block of East Falls View Drive, Lt. Jorge Duran said. San Diego police officers responded to the scene, according to Duran.

The case is still under investigation and further details can’t be released at this time, Duran said. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

The SDSU Police Department has ruled out any possibilities of foul play and given the case to the SDPD, Capt. Joshua Mays said.

A candlelight memorial service was held on Tuesday night on a grassy area between the Aztec Student Union and the Open Air Theater to honor Reverand’s life. More than 240 people confirmed attendance on the public event Facebook page.

Members of SAE were not available for comment at the time of writing.
