Traveling team: The game against Southwest Texas represents the third one-game road trip this season for SDSU, as they’ve alternated between the road and the Sports Arena through five games.

Record pace: The 4-1 record by the Aztecs is their best start under third-year head coach Fred Trenkle.

The pivotal point: Junior point-guard Jason Richey is leading the team in scoring averaging 21.8 points per game. He is the first Aztec to be averaging more than 20 points after the first five games since Michael Cage during the 1983-84 season.

Breaking records: With just two more steals, senior Chad Nelson can move past Cage into the fourth spot on the SDSU all-time steals list.

Bobcats to watch: Senior guard Dameon Sansom has been the man thus far this season, leading Southwest Texas with 11.3 points per game.
