Women’s lacrosse
The San Diego State women’s lacrosse team is going to be holding the Women’s Lacrosse 2011 Girls Youth Clinic on Oct. 9.
The event will cost $40 and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The clinic will be demonstrating lacrosse skills and knowledge and is open to girls from second to seventh grade.

Cross Country Stanford Invitational
Junior Marianne Hogan placed 42nd out of 278 runners on Saturday, which led the San Diego State cross country team at the Stanford Invitational.
Hogan finished the 6,000-meter course in 21 minutes and 49 seconds.
The Aztecs finished 26th as a team.
Stanford, the host school, took home first place.
SDSU swim team
Aztecs sophomore Mikaela Macklin won the individual title, helping the San Diego State swim team win against University of San Diego in a pentathlon.
Six Aztecs placed in the top-10 swimmers in the final standings of the meet.
Macklin won four events and captured third place in another.
Track and field
Track and field head coach Shelia Burrell has made an addition to the coaching staff.
Burrell hired a 2008 Olympian and two-time World Championship finalist in the shot put, Dorian Scott, on Sept. 12.
Scott wants to help the Aztecs realize their potential.
“I’m excited about having a chance to be on this coaching staff at San Diego State,” Scott said. “There has been great success here the past few years and I’d like to help this program become a national power.”
Lockett joins list
Sophomore wide receiver Colin Lockett was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Friday.
The Biletnikoff is given annually to the best wide receiver in the nation.
Lockett has 19 catches for 325 yards this season. He is one of 94 players who are on the list.
