San Diego State men’s basketball junior guard Jamaal Franklin and senior Chase Tapley were named to the All-Mountain West team, the league announced Monday.
Franklin was selected to the first team for the second consecutive season, joining Brandon Heath and Kawhi Leonard as the only Aztecs to be named to the first team twice. Franklin scored in double digits in each of the 16 conference games and recorded a double-double in six of the 16 conference games. Franklin finished first in the conference in defensive rebounds (7.31), second in total rebounding (9), tied for second in steals (1.56) and third in scoring (16.8).
Tapley was named to the third team. This is the second time Tapley has been named to the All-MW team. Tapley finished the conference season ranked fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.13) and seventh in assists (3.06).
