College — certainly not the most practical time to have a full-fledged love affair with fashion. (Can you say empty wallet?) But, it’s like they say: when you know, you know. And I know that fashion and I, well we’re just meant to be. Hard times be damned, we’ll make it work.
This semester, DA Style is gearing up to make you fall head over heels, too. We’ll be bringing back CollegeFashionista and our Trend Watches, and adding some new features like lust-worthy fashion spreads and interviews with local designers.
Before I lose myself in the circus that is New York Fashion Week (reporting to you throughout it all, of course), let me let you in on a few of my favorite sartorial things.
Top five budget-friendly stores:
- H&M
- Asos
- Forever 21
- Topshop
- ModCloth
Top five pieces for fall:
- A chunky knit in a rich, earthy color
- A dark-wash jean with an impossibly wide leg
- An oversized clutch with an eye-catching, wild pattern
- An unstructured button-down with a retro polka dot print
- A tall leather boot with an already worn-in look
And as I love nothing more than wasting valuable time flipping through page after page of impeccably styled magazine editorials, I leave you with this.
Top five favorite glossies:
- Glamour
- Vogue
- Lucky
- InStyle
- Harper’s Bazaar
