A member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity sustained a broken jaw aftera fight broke out at the fraternity house, located on the 5700 blockof Montezuma Road, early Sunday morning.
According to police reports, 10 to 15 males broke down the backfence of the house at about 2:20 a.m. and confronted several membersof the fraternity.
The confrontation escalated into a physical fight during which oneto two of the intruders began hitting one of the fraternity membersin the face.
When other members tried to stop the fighting, the trespassers ranout of the yard toward 55th St.
The injured fraternity member was transported to AlvaradoHospital. His upper jaw was broken and required surgery.

Credit card collision
A fight broke out between two credit card solicitors Friday nearCuicacalli residence hall.
The two were soliciting credit card applications to students whenthe altercation occurred. According to reports, one employeeconfronted the other for moving into “his territory.” A pushing matchescalated into a fist fight.
When police arrived, the fight was over. Police detained theperpetrators, but neither wished to press charges.
Both were released.
crime rates drop
Crime rates in major Californian cities have dropped more thanrates in other parts of the country, according to FBI figures.
Nationwide, crime statistics have also dropped.
San Diego had the lowest crime index total of California’s threemajor cities, with 3,275 violent and property crimes. In SanFrancisco, 3,926 crimes were committed, and in Los Angeles there were3,980.
