PIZZAWINNER: WOODSTOCK’SOther Favorites: Luigi’s at the Beach, Bronx Pizza
Many students see Thursdays as one day closer to Friday. Others see it as just another day of school and work. But for some pizza and beer lovers, Thursday nights mean “Pint Night” at Woodstock’s Pizza. With dollar refills for beer – after buying a $5 mug – students pour into the popular pizza joint for discounted drinks and great food.Because of the diverse menu and great eating experience, Woodstock’s Pizza was once again voted as best pizza place by San Diego State students.”It’s just a hot place a lot of people know,” shift manager and driver Tyler McCrary said. “Whether it’s Thursday for ‘Pint Night’ or just to come in here to get some really good pizza, it’s the best pizza in the area.”Offering specialty pizzas that include the “All Meat Orgy” and “The FireBird”, customers can’t get enough of the variety of flavors Woodstock’s offers.”We use premium quality ingredients and all the dough is handmade in the morning,” McCrary said. “We have variety; white sauce, barbecue sauce, all that stuff. Just the mix of ingredients (is what makes us different).”Not only is the pizza excellent, the restaurant also provides a safe and enjoyable atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.”It’s the environment, the atmosphere; when you come into Woodstock’s it’s all young people working here and we like to have a good time.” McCrary said. “We like serving college kids and we like serving the people that live in the area too.”Within a mile of campus, Woodstock’s knows students have a tight budget. In addition to “Pint Night,” happy hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a buy-one-get-one-free deal after 10 p.m., students know they won’t spend their money foolishly. With great pizza, special deals and affordable prices, Woodstock’s has become a staple in many diets across SDSU.
