Last year, the band was brought on stage by U2 to play “Out of Control” at the sold-out Staples Center in Los Angeles, according to the band’s Web site. Their sound is rooted in such bands as U2, The Beatles and The Police.
Nurses Now Career Fair10 to 2 p.m., Hepner Hall quadFuture nurses can come to the nursing career fair to network with representatives from Nurses Now partner hospitals and organizations. San Diego State Nurses Now is a six-year community partnership program that has been established to address the nursing shortage issue. Partners include several prestigious hospitals including Kaiser Permanente, UCSD Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Health Center.
Gender Identity Lecture4 to 5:30 p.m., Love Library, Room 2203Paul Sargent will give a lecture titled “Children and Gender Identity,” sponsored by Associated Students and Cultural Arts and Special Events, as a part of the ongoing lecture series. The event is open to the public and can fit a maximum of 50 people.

Emerging Health Issues in CaliforniaNoon, Hepner Hall Room 221This lecture, sponsored by the Graduate School of Public Health, features Dr. Mark Horton, a California state health officer. Horton will discuss how California is preparing for health challenges of the 21st century. The event is free and open to the public.
