Sup? If you haven’t read my awesome bio you may not be aware of my love for music. In bed, in the shower, even on the move – I’ll take it anywhere. So SXSW is clearly a must.
The world’s biggest showcase officially kicked off on the March 11 with the music part of the event starting on Tuesday, March 15.
However, in true gorilla-gig style, Big Boi made an appearance at one of the larger venues of the festival Monday night. The ex-Outkast member tore up the Austin Power Plant – the power plant was converted into a concert hall for SXSW – late Monday night in a surprise gig for a crowd of almost 5,000.
I also managed to catch an epic Google party featuring color-coordinated drinks, photo booths, live bands and free food – the geeks know how to break it down. After a short ride on a solar-powered carousel, I found myself on a karaoke Winnebago with all the free goodies a 21-year-old could consume. So far I’ve spent 24 hours in Austin and have 144 left. There will be much more to come.
Stayed tuned for more SXSW coverage right here w/ J.AM. all week!
