A female student alerted the campus police last Sunday, after returning to her residence hall in Cuicacalli to discover her laptop had been urinated upon. The student’s MacBook, valued at $1,000, was destroyed by the urine. She is seeking to press vandalism charges and there is an investigation underway by campus police to find those responsible. The victim suspects friends of her roommate are the ones to blame for the incident.

Threatening Email

Last week, an email was sent out through Blackboard to all the members of a San Diego State class. The sender of the email claimed he had been kidnapped, and if he was not sent the study guide for the class’ upcoming midterm, his kidnappers would kill all those present at the exam. In the email, he said to students, “Save yourselves, give me the questions.” One student who received the email reported it to the police, and said he did not feel safe attending the next class meeting. Police quickly found the student behind the email. He was in no danger and claimed the email was a joke. Police determined the student was not a threat and ordered him to write another email apologizing to his classmates.

Battery at Sigma Chi

At roughly 2:30 a.m. last Friday, March 18, two females reported they had been battered after being kicked outed a party at the Sigma Chi Fraternity. The two were visiting from Arizona, and the fraternity members claimed that because neither of them were on the guest list, they were not welcome at the party. Reportedly, the two were asked to leave several times before being forcibly removed from the party, during which the two sustained minor injuries. Neither of the two women required medical aid, but one member of the fraternity was charged with battery.
