Aztecs swept by TCU
The San Diego State baseball team tried its best to go toe-to-toe with Mountain West Conference powerhouse TCU, but the No. 7 Horned Frogs were too much for the Aztecs last weekend.
TCU swept SDSU in its three-game series at Tony Gwynn Stadium, winning all three games by a combined score of 26-10.
The Aztecs’ best chance of pulling out a win came during Sunday’s game, when they took the Horned Frogs into extra innings. But TCU scored three runs in the top of the 10th to beat SDSU, 7-4.
The Aztecs fell to 11-25 this season.
Historic season continues
The fifth-ranked SDSU men’s golf team continued to stay hot last weekend when it notched its 10th top-five finish of the season and its seventh in eight spring tournaments.
The Aztecs finished in fifth place on Sunday at the 65th annual Western Intercollegiate at the par-70, 6,615-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course.
Junior Colin Featherstone led the squad with a 2-over 212, finishing in eighth place at the tournament.
SDSU will next play at the MWC Championships next month.
