The San Diego State men’s basketball team’s victory against Air Force on Saturday morning wasn’t pretty.
But apparently it was convincing enough to the pollsters in at least one poll.
SDSU moved to No. 4 in the ESPN / USA Today Coaches Poll and stayed at No. 6 in the Associated Press Poll.
SDSU received three first-place votes in the Coaches Poll for the first time in school history.
The rest of the top five was No. 1 Duke, No. 2 Kansas, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 5 Texas in the Coaches Poll, and in the AP, No. 1 Duke, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Kansas, No. 4 Pittsburgh and No. 5 Texas rounded out the top five.
The Aztecs will play their next game Saturday morning against No. 7 BYU at Viejas Arena in a battle for first place in the Mountain West Conference standings.
