A trolley wrapped with the faces of Associated Students executives officers and the Aztec Student Union debuted on Wednesday afternoon. These images will be rolling around San Diego for a few months.
The trolley stopped at the San Diego State transit station where A.S. President Josh Morse spoke about the Metropolitan Transit System’s effort to support sustainability in partnership with the student union.
“MTS and the student union two symbols of sustainability,” Morse told the crowd. “The trolley, which takes cars off the road, and our union, which is the first LEED-platinum student union in the CSU system.”
Images on the trolley include Josh Morse, A.S. Executive Vice President Becca Cohen, A.S. Vice President of External Relations, Javier Gomez, A.S. President of Financial Affairs Mariah Kelly and A.S. President of University Affairs Morgan Chan, the SDSU campus and the student union.
“I hope that it will be a positive student response,” Gomez said. “The trolley wrap showcases our union to the whole San Diego community.”
MTS was a grand dedication week sponsor, new media editor Hallie Jacobs said.
“We wanted to engage the rest of the community to the Aztec Student Union so MTS offered a sponsorship to get the trolley wrap put on there for us,” Gomez said. “The point is to get more people involved, especially commuter students who ride the trolley.
The trolley car with images on it would debut on the Green Line, which travels from Santee to Downtown San Diego. It would eventually be switched to the other routes so people in several areas of the city would be exposed to it.
“Soon the student union will be a destination for all San Diegans,” Morse said.
