The smooth, sultry, contemporary song stylings of James Morrison will be echoing through Humphrey’s Concerts By The Bay this Saturday night. The British singer-songwriter recently released his third album, “The Awakening,” following his two previous well-received albums. Morrison had his start in 2006 with the hit single, “You Give Me Something” and “Wonderful World” on his debut album, “Undiscovered.” His is soulful music and warms listeners’ hearts. For those unfamiliar with Morrison, think a subtler version of Gavin DeGraw, perfect for a classy summer dinner party on the patio. “The Awakening” is an honest testament to that, taking a page out of John Legend’s book for musical formation. “I Won’t Let You Go” and “Slave To The Music” shine on the album as magical jam songs, prompting serene Sunday mornings or sultry Saturday nights. James Morrison plays this Saturday, May 5, at Humphrey’s By The Bay with honeyhoney supporting. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $28 for a regular ticket and increase in price for the dinner show and Lexus-sponsored premium seats, which can run upward of $200. The show is all ages.
