What is the first thing you do every morning before heading to school?

Before I head to school I like to start my morning off with breakfast and double checking my agenda to see what is happening that day in terms of school, sorority, work, and the other organizations that I am involved in.

What inspired you to choose your major?

Since I have been involved in M.E.Ch.A since my first year at SDSU and becoming a part of their MESA, which is their executive board, it made me realize that I want to help those people who can’t defend themselves or have the money to have someone represent them in court. I was also taking Sociology 102 with Professor Semm and it just made me realize that I have to help those who don’t have the resources and I picked my major based on being a mechista and as well as Professor Semm’s class. It made me open my eyes to a bigger picture and a bigger struggle that I hadn’t seen or understood before.

What’s something that would surprise people about you?

I used to be the varsity captain of my soccer and volleyball team in high school as well as president of the Gay Straight Alliance.

What advice would you give SDSU freshmen for their time at school?

The advice that I would give to them is to really make sure you are taking advantage of all of the resources that is given at SDSU. Take advantage of EOP if you are in that program since they offer tutoring. Another piece of advice that I would give them is to get involved on campus get active and join organizations whether it is to join an org for your own interest or major or even becoming a Greek.
