Amazon’s new digital pre-order system includes great discounts
Not having to spend your cash months in advan on a game is definitely a great perk.
For a while now, Amazon has been providing PC gamers with its own digital distribution system for games it sells, however they have just added some great new features. Customers can now pre-order ahead of time and pre-load many of their game files, much like other digital distribution systems.
However, unlike many other competitors, Amazon’s new pre-order system doesn’t appear to charge you until the moment the game is officially released as well as allowing you to download the unlocking files at that same moment.
Another great feature to this program is that pre-orders will enjoy discounts as high as 30 percent off, continuing the trend of other distributors but also far exceeding most of their discounts. Furthermore, a bunch of upcoming major releases already have some great discounts, with Assassin’s Creed Revelations enjoying a $15 discount and Battlefield 3 getting a smaller $8.96 discount.
Mass Effect 3 adding multiplayer co-op
Bioware recently announced that Mass Effect 3 would be be released with a brand-new 4 player co-op game mode. The new game mode will allow players to team up with three of their friends to tackle special co-op-only missions. Gamers will be able to choose from a variety of races, such as Turian and Asari, as well as numerous classes.
The co-op missions will somehow effect the new “Galaxy at War” system which will determine how ready your particular Shepard and their galaxy is to fight off the Reapers. However, Bioware was quick to mention that the co-op missions will not be required to fulfill the new system and players will be capable of defeating the Reapers from single-player game play alone.
Skyrim manual reveals a wealth of new information
One lucky Redditor was able to get his hands on a copy of the upcoming game’s manual and posted pictures on the popular /skyrim subreddit. The manual revealed many new facts about the game, including:
Players can now brawl with characters in exchange for information. Horses can now gallop and will be returned to the nearest stable when you fast travel.
Players will be able to hire out NPCs to adventure with them, much like in the Fallout series. NPCs will be quite useful as they come with their own inventories and abilities such as unlocking chests and picking up items.
Batman: Arkham City receives incredibly reviews
If reviews are to be trusted, the latest Batman game appears to be a spectacular success.
Giant Bomb awarded it a 5/5 and said, “…Arkham City is more Batman, and if you want more Batman, there’s no question: you should play this game.”
IGN gave the game a 9.5 along with the glowing comment, “The voice acting, the challenges, the amazing opening, the unbelievable ending and the feeling of being the Dark Knight — these are the things that standout looking back. I’ve beaten this thing twice and still want to call in sick and chase Riddler Trophies.”
Gamespot’s 9/10 came with, “ … this is an unforgettable adventure that will keep you coming back to the cape and cowl long after you’ve seen the credits roll.”
