Two Students Robbed at Gunpoint

Yesterday morning at 12:05 a.m., two female San Diego StateUniversity students were robbed at gunpoint.

The incident took place on the 5000 block of College Place, knownas Greek Circle. Police reported the two women were walking down thealley when they were robbed at gunpoint by two men.

The women are members of a sorority. One of their roommates saidwhen she talked to them after the incident they were shaken up, butnot injured. The roommate also said that some keys were stolen fromone of the victims, leaving the whole sorority vulnerable.

The suspects were described as black male adults, who fled thearea in a silver late model hatchback, possibly a Honda.

“We just want to alert the community until we get moreinformation,” University Police Capt. Steve Williams said.

Williams said he wants to alert students to some basic safetyprocedures: walking in groups, using the campus escort service,avoiding shortcuts and dark isolated areas, reporting suspiciouspersons or activity, taking the women’s self defense class on campus,or calling 9-1-1 in an emergency.
