San Diego State fans saw their team play with a purpose tonight in the Aztecs’ 90-64 victory against the San Jose State Spartans.
After falling to the University of New Mexico Lobos last Saturday in Albuquerque, the Aztecs came out disciplined and sharply focused on both ends of the court.
They constantly made the extra pass and moved the ball like they haven’t in a while. It comes as no surprise that twelve–yes, twelve–SDSU players scored tonight. Sophomore forward Winston Shepard led the charge with his best game of the season: 12 points, 6 boards and 5 assists.
SDSU’s full court press and smothering defense gave SJSU fits and forced the Spartans to commit 22 turnovers.
SDSU will look to build on this momentum as it enters a tough, two-game road trip this Saturday in Fresno.
