What did I do for spring break? I went to Oahu, Hawaii with my parents and two friends. And it was amazing!
The second after we checked into our hotel at 10 pm on Monday, my friends and I walked along Waikiki Beach, which was just across the street. Even late at night the weather was hot and humid and perfect beach weather. Since we were too scared to swim in the ocean in the dark, we jut decided to sneak into some hotel’s pool for a midnight swim.
On Tuesday we took a bus to the east side of the island to Lanikai Beach. The sand was so warm and soft and the water was so clear and turquoise. It was beautiful. We spent the whole day swimming and playing in the sand.
On Wednesday, we stayed close and just spent the day on Waikiki Beach. It was super crowded and there were people surfing, boogie boarding, canoeing, and paddle boarding. We swam, boogie boarded, and worked on our tans the whole day.
Thursday morning, we got up early for a Hawaii Turtle Tour circle island tour. We visited places such as:
Halona Blowhole
Secret Beach
Hawaii’s Macadamia Nut Farm
Chinaman’s Hat
Sunset Beach
and The Dole Plantation.
We also spent an hour at Turtle Beach on the North Shore. We got to snorkel with sea turtles. It was so amazing. They were so huge . There were even a few sunbathing on the shore.
Friday afternoon, before we were to leave that evening, we went to Hanauma Bay to snorkel. And wow, I did not expect it to be that breathtaking. The water was crystal clear. From the top of the mountain you could see all the coral reefs. There were so many types of fish, from small fish to massive fish, transparent fish to rainbow fish. It was absolutely incredible. After snorkeling, we laid on the beach and soaked up as much sun before we were to be on a plane home.
Now that I’m back and spring break is coming to an end, I really wish I could go back in time and do it all again. I love Hawaii and I can’t wait to go back. Beaches, sun, it’s just all too perfect. Please don’t make me go back to school.
