The San Diego State Aztecs beat the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 20-10 tonight in San Diego.
SDSU sophomore running back Donnel Pumphrey led the way with 182 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. Senior quarterback Quinn Kaehler looked on and off all night, but made several crucial passes, including a 26-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver Lloyd Mills.
The Aztecs’ other 6 points came from the boot of junior kicker Donny Hageman, who went 2-3 on the night on field goal attempts.
SDSU’s defense held Hawaii to just 239 total yards and picked off sophomore quarterback Ikaika Woosley twice, once by sophomore cornerback Damontae Kazee and once by sophomore safety Malik Smith.
