The San Diego State Aztecs lead the Colorado State University Rams 37-26 at the half.
Junior forward Winston Shepard and senior forward JJ O’Brien scored 22 of SDSU’s first-half points — O’Brien with 13 and Shepard with nine.
Shepard did, however, injure his left pinky finger while driving to the hoop late in the first half. He remained in the game, but wore a splint on the finger.
Senior guard Aqeel Quinn scored only two points in minimal minutes on the floor. He picked up his third foul with 6:41 left in the half.
The Rams remained in this game with their impressive offensive rebounding, grabbing eight in the first half.
