The third Midnight Study Break at San Diego State will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight in Montezuma Hall. SDSU staff will be serving free breakfast for the first 500 students who arrive.
SDSU Student Affairs, Aztec Parents, Intercultural Relations, Cross-Cultural Center and Aztec Shops founded this event to help students “break away from finals week stress.”
“The Nightmare Before Finals” is this semester’s Midnight Study Break theme. Besides a hot breakfast, staff will be providing smart study tips, stress-relievers such as free massages, games and prizes including free scantrons, beach bicycle giveaways and gift cards. Students must show their SDSU Red ID to enjoy this free event.
“Students often spend so much time studying for exams, they don’t take the time to take care of themselves” Robyn Adams, Coordinator for SDSU Student Organizations, said.
“This event gives students an opportunity to take a break and interact with staff and other students”.
About 750 students attended last year’s Midnight Study Break. Event organizers expect at least 1,000 students this year.
“This event provides a really relaxing atmosphere” management junior Megan McCoy said. “Take an hour, and escape from school and focus on yourself”.
Organizers advise students to be there early, have their Red ID ready and be prepared to escape the worries and the stress that finals bring.
