the following is a brief look at the rest ofthe teams playing in the Midwest Regional of the NCAA Division IMen’s Basketball Championship Tournament by our so-called expertJared Quient:
1. Kansas Record: 29-3 Comment: These guys are scary good. They run whether teams make or miss shots. One of three teams that can win it all. 2. Oregon Record: 23-8 Comment: Can run up and down the floor like crazy. Unbeatable at home, but how the Ducks do on a neutral floor? 3. Miss. State n Record: 26-7 n Comment: Won the SEC Conference Tournament over Alabama. 6. Texas n Record: 20-11 n Comment: Really young, really talented. Could steal a win over Miss. State in round two. 7. Wake Forest Record: 20-12 Comment: Forward Darius Songailia has a great name and an an even better post game. 8. Stanford Record: 19-9 Comment:Casey Jacobsen can take over a tournament if he’s hitting his threes. 9. W. Kentucky Record: 28-3 Comment: The hilltoppers win at Kentucky earlier this year earned WKU a first round game with Stanford. 10. Pepperdine Record: 22-8 Comment: Took out both USC and UCLA to go along with its victory over Gonzaga. Should make it to the second round. 11. Boston College Record: 20-11 Comment: The only way the Eagles make a run is if Troy Bell takes them there. He can be terrific. 14. McNeese St. Record: 21-8 Comment: Can’t say I’ve ever head of them. Should get smoked by Mississippi State. 15. Montana Record: 16-14 Comment: Even UM alum Craig Kilborn has Oregon advancing in his bracket. 16. Holy Cross Record: 18-14 Comment: Has as much chance of beating KU as Dan Hayes has of becoming Britney Spears’ new beau.
