Recruitment for the Pan-Hellenic sororities started this week with a record number of 846 women registered for recruitment.
“Last year, we only had 743 women registered and 642 participating,” said Doug Case, the coordinator of fraternity and sorority life. “Because (Interfraternity Council and United Sorority & Fraternity Council) registration is not required, we aren’t able to have exact numbers but usually, if Pan-Hellenic goes up, then the tendency if that IFC and USFC will go up as well.”
The level of interest in Greek Life is similar for potential IFC members, according to John Wilson, president of Phi Kappa Psi.
“I have never experienced such a large quantity of guys just aching for rush to start,” Wilson said.
