When asked what studio arts senior Kaitlin Trataris’ goals are after her upcoming May graduation, she simply said, “to become a culture queen.”

She is already getting a pretty good head start with the culture aspect of it, helping create a live-action web series titled “Neurosis Now.” The series airs each Sunday on Facebook, via YouTube, and Trataris helps produce the web series with her friend Johann, whom she has known since high school.

“The (show’s meaning) conceptually can be found by asking yourself the zen koan ‘Why is Kim Kardashian famous?’” Trataris said.

“(The process of creating these shorts) is one of the most incredibly engaging and fun things about Neurosis Now … We have a very flexible team and we are always thinking of new ways to create and edit and deliver media,” Trataris said.

The creation process is geographically expansive; the team collaborates with individuals all across the state, with contributors living in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.

With one season (four episodes) down, the “Neurosis Now” team is very pleased with its growing fan base and its capacity to tell new stories week after week.

It’s important for Trataris to gain a steady following, because she thinks that not only are the viewers learning, but the production team is “earning the trust of the viewers Sunday after Sunday.”

With Trataris’ influences ranging from Tina Fey, to Quentin Tarantino to Hennessey Youngman, expect an interesting and unique experience while watching “Neurosis Now.”
