Andrew Breitenbach, Senior Staff Writer
Andrew Breitenbach (he/him/his), staff writer and photographer for the Daily Aztec, is a fourth-year journalism major from San Diego, California. Before transferring to San Diego State in 2023, Andrew attended Grossmont College, where he was the deputy editor at The Summit. Andrew covers a wide variety of topics, including sports, local government, video games and his latest venture, the evolving landscape of the cannabis industry. While at the Daily Aztec, he notably took on beat coverage of the men’s basketball team and was also a key contributor to a series of NIL-related stories. He has always had a deep passion for sports, playing high school rugby and baseball. When he’s not pursuing a story, Andrew enjoys attending live sporting events, snowboarding, ocean kayaking and playing video games in his free time.
